Project Background

Located in Gonghe County, Hainan Prefecture, Qinghai Province, the project is part of the Qinghai Hainan Prefecture Ultra-High Voltage Transmission Base.

The 1000MW photovoltaic power plant consists of 319 PV sub-arrays and is equipped with a 200.97MW/200.97MWh AC-side energy storage system.

The storage systems are distributed across individual PV sub-arrays to support large-scale renewable energy operation.

Challenge

Large-scale photovoltaic projects require flexible energy storage solutions to manage renewable energy variability and improve operational flexibility.

Located at an average altitude of approximately 3,200 meters, the project faces challenging environmental conditions, including dry climate, large temperature differences and strong wind and sand exposure.

UZ Solution

The project adopts distributed containerized energy storage systems integrating energy storage converters, battery systems, monitoring, communication, thermal management and safety systems.

Result

The distributed energy storage deployment provides additional flexibility for renewable energy operation and supports efficient integration of large-scale photovoltaic generation.

With years of operational experience, the project demonstrates the long-term reliability of energy storage solutions in large-scale renewable energy applications.
