UZ Energy to Exhibit at ECOENERGY EXPO 2026 in Kyiv

Ukraine's energy market is placing greater emphasis on distributed generation, renewable energy and battery storage as the country continues to restore and modernise its electricity system.
According to the International Energy Agency, Ukraine had around 38 GW of available dispatchable power generation capacity before 2022. That fell to about 19 GW during the first year of the full-scale invasion and declined further to around 12 GW after major attacks in spring 2024. Part of that capacity has since been restored, while additional distributed generation and battery storage have also been added.
This has increased the importance of distributed energy resources in Ukraine's longer-term energy development. The IEA identifies technologies such as solar PV, wind and batteries as part of a more decentralised electricity system that can improve flexibility and resilience.
In its modelling for Ukraine's 2030 energy objectives, the IEA estimates that a pathway could include approximately 24 GW of solar PV, 11 GW of wind and 6 GW of energy storage capacity, assuming continued operation of the country's existing nuclear fleet. These are modelling results rather than committed Ukrainian government deployment targets, but they indicate the potential scale of storage in a more decentralised power system.
Ukraine now also has a major example of utility-scale battery storage in operation.
In September 2025, DTEK and Fluence energised six battery storage sites in the Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions with a combined power rating of 200 MW and 400 MWh of storage capacity. The six facilities range from 20 MW to 50 MW each and have been connected to the Ukrainian power grid.
The project marks a significant step in the deployment of utility-scale battery storage in Ukraine and demonstrates how storage can support electricity supply and a more flexible power system.
Against this market background, UZ Energy will participate in ECOENERGY EXPO 2026, taking place from October 13–15, 2026 at the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv.
Now in its 18th edition, ECOENERGY EXPO focuses on renewable energy technologies, distributed generation, smart grids and energy storage systems. The organiser specifically identifies the introduction of energy storage for solar and wind generation as one of the exhibition's key areas.
At the show, UZ Energy will meet local partners, project developers and energy professionals to discuss energy storage applications, system integration and cooperation opportunities in the Ukrainian market.
Visitors can meet the UZ Energy team at Booth 2M-2. Event details are also available on the UZ Energy Events page.
